Reemployment Assistance Claims Dashboard:

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) released new county and industry-specific data on the Reemployment Assistance Claims Dashboard. The dashboard can be found on the state’s website: http://lmsresources.labormarketinfo.com/covid19/index.html. The state will update this dashboard weekly but will continue updating the total number of reemployment assistance claims submitted, verified, processed and paid on a daily basis. As of April 22, 2020, the state advised that they received 688,723 unique claims and paid 116,830 claimants a total of nearly $150.5 million.

Additional Updates:

The state will continue to conduct routine, nightly maintenance to the CONNECT system so that they can process claims and payments faster. As a result, CONNECT will only be available from 8am to 7:59pm daily. This schedule does not affect individuals that wish to file a new claim. Individuals can file a new claim 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

Also, the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program provides unemployment benefits to those that may not otherwise be eligible under the state’s reemployment assistance program, such as independent contractors and individuals who are self-employed. The state will provide additional information on how to apply for PUA within the next week.

Finally, the state suspended the requirement that individuals submit a report every two weeks regarding their job search and ability to work in order to keep receiving benefits, on an emergency basis. The state also suspended the one-week waiting period that required individuals to wait seven days before they could receive reemployment assistance too.

Claimant Resources:

The state has a mobile-friendly online application for individuals filing a new reemployment assistance claim: https://www.floridajobs.org/raapplication. For additional information about reemployment assistance benefits visit https://www.floridajobs.org/covid-19.

Our office will monitor COVID-19 updates closely and will send out additional announcements as we become aware of any updates. You can also review these updates on our website at https://www.thomas-and-company.com/covid-19/ too.
