The Idaho Department of Labor’s New Phone System

By December 1, 2020COVID-19

The Idaho Department of Labor installed new phone software to accommodate the rise in unemployment calls due to COVID-19. Individuals who require unemployment assistance should call (208) 332-8942 as the 800 number will no longer be used by the state.

Additionally, the state hired approximately 60 staff members to assist with the increase in unemployment workload. At least 49 staff members will answer phones from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm MT. Spanish speaking agents will also be available.

Individuals who wish to file for unemployment benefits can review common FAQs here: https://www.labor.idaho.gov/dnn/Unemployment-Benefits/Questions-Answers. Individuals can also review how-to videos about  the application process here: https://www.labor.idaho.gov/dnn/Unemployment-Benefits/UI-Videos.
