COVID-19 & Tennessee Unemployment Tax Filing & Payment Extension

By March 26, 2020May 1st, 2020SUI Tax

Governor Bill Lee announced that the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development will be providing extensions to employers affected by COVID-19 relating to the filing and payment of their first quarter 2020 unemployment taxes.

Unemployment tax and wage reports will remain due on April 30, 2020 as normal.  However, if an employer is unable to meet this deadline, the Department will allow for an extension.  Employers requiring an extension due to COVID-19 should submit their request through the normal extension process.

Our office will be monitoring these situations closely and will send out additional announcements or make postings on our website (http://covid19.thomas-and-company.com/covid-19/) as we become aware of new developments.
